O entrevistado do dia é Bruno Morais, cantor de MPB (ainda é possível rotular algo?) e que segundo Emanuel Bomfim, da Eldorado FM, é o cara. Bruno lança seu segundo albúm "A Vontade Superstar", sucessor de "Volume Zero". Confira abaixo a entrevista e as formas de contato.

Bruno, você citou em entrevista que João Gilberto é uma referência. Após a bossa nova, é possível criar algo tão marcante para a cultura nacional?
R: Sim, ele é uma referência como muitos outros, talvez a maior e isso tem muito a ver com a sutileza, a clareza e a economia do João, mais do que com a "criação" da bossa nova. Tem a ver com o perfeccionismo e a paixão pelo coração das canções, o cerne da canção. O controle do João é algo realmente muito importante, um controle que gera nitidez na comunicação do que aquela canção significa para ele, sem rodeios. A bossa nova é a conseqüência de outros movimentos estéticos que aconteceram antes, por isso acho totalmente possível que se crie algo tão marcante para a nossa cultura quanto a bossa nova.
Acho que isso já está acontecendo, só está faltando atenção e espaço nas grandes mídias. Depois de todos esses movimentos marcantes como a bossa, a jovem guarda, a tropicália, o rock 80 e a valiosa ressaca dos anos 90, as conseqüências não poderiam ser melhores. O acabamento, a criatividade, a sensibilidade e a liberdade com que essa nova geração, da qual eu acredito fazer parte, se apresenta é o resultado de todos esses movimentos brilhantes.
Seu trabalho tem sido elogiado por críticos de peso da área e seu público é tão seleto quanto. A sua música pretende chegar a todos? Ou pretende seguir uma carreira de nicho?
R: Eu não tenho a menor intenção em seguir uma carreira de nicho, não teria a menor graça. Seria muita burrice da minha parte trabalhar tanto e querer que apenas alguns “escolhidos” ouçam. É o contrário. Faço uma música sofisticada, porém muito acessível, porque quero oferecer o melhor a todos. Quero oferecer para aquela moça ou para aquele rapaz que ouvem aquelas-que-sempre-tocam-na-rádio, uma experiência nova. Quero que minha música toque no sensorial das pessoas, e o que você chama de “nicho” tem a maior dificuldade em deixar se levar pelos sentimentos sem racionalizar. Então meu desafio é duplo: fazer com que o “nicho” pare um pouco de pensar e comece a sentir, e também descobrir uma maneira de chegar nas outras pessoas e descobrir o que acontece. Os críticos são muito importantes porque são eles que te dão o primeiro feedback, os caras trabalham com isso, recebem discos todos os dias, se esse cara resolve falar de você isso é um sinal reconfortante de que talvez esteja no caminho certo.
Você já disse que usou a internet nas composições, trocando e-mails. Usará a intenet para distribuir seu trabalho também?
Sim, com certeza. É uma ferramenta maravilhosa de divulgação e distribuição, já faz parte do processo padrão.
Dos cantores da sua geração, em quem você acredita?
R: Vou citar meu parceiro Romulo Fróes, que além de grande compositor tem uma voz linda, grande, e um jeito de cantar muito cru e competente. O Marcelo Jeneci que me disse outro dia que não tão canta bem e não tem carisma e arrebeeenta no palco. O Léo Cavalvantti , esse canta muito e sabe disso, ele não é nada econômico mas tem bom gosto de sobra para exagerar sem medo, tirando onda, incrível!! Ah! E eu gosto muito do cantor do Móveis Coloniais de Acaju. Adoro ver e ouvir o Siba cantar, da gosto de ver! Não vou falar de nenhuma cantora.
Com quem você gostaria de dividir o palco?
R: Com os The Poliphonic Spree. Com uma big band. Com o Móveis Coloniais de Acaju. Com o Monarco e a Velha Guarda da Portela. Com o John Brion.
Chico Buarque citou em entrevista no DVD “Carioca” que a MPB já teve seus altos e baixos, e parece que agora está em alta novamente. Você sente isso? Criar um trabalho nessa linha ainda é garantia de qualidade?
R: Acho que, como eu disse no começo da entrevista, o Chico está certíssimo, é um momento muito fértil e livre. Muita gente com trabalhos muitos bem resolvidos e singulares como nos anos 50, 60 e 70. A pergunta é, como sustentar e fazer reverberar esse momento para que seja dada a devida atenção, para que chegue até as pessoas? Mpb, rock, sertanejo, tudo pode ter qualidade ou não. Garantia de qualidade é talento, verdade, dedicação e vontade.

Bruno, you mentioned in an interview that João Gilberto is a reference. After the bossa nova, you can create something so significant to national culture?
R: Yes, it is a reference to many others, perhaps the greatest and this has much to do with subtlety, clarity and economy of João rather than with the "creation" of bossa nova. It has to do with perfectionism and passion of the songs by heart, the heart of the song. The control of João is something really important, a control that creates clarity in the communication of what that song means to him, bluntly. The bossa nova is the result of other aesthetic movements that happened before, so I totally possible to create something so significant to our culture as the bossa nova.
That is already happening, is missing only attention and space in major media. After all these moves marked as bossa, the young guard, the tropicalis, and 80s valuable rock the hangover of the 90s, the consequences could not be better. The finish, creativity, sensitivity and freedom that this new generation, of which I do believe part of it is presented is the result of all these brilliant moves.
His work has been praised by critics for its weight and the area is so selected as public. His music aims to reach everyone? Or plans to pursue a career as a niche?
R: I do not have the slightest intention to pursue a career niche, would not the least free. It would be very stupid of me to work so much and want only a few "chosen" to hear. It is the opposite. I am a sophisticated music, but very handy, because I want to offer the best to all. I offer for that girl or boy for those who hear-what-ever-touch-to-radio, a new experience. I want my music to touch the sensory people, and what you call "niche" has the greatest difficulty to take leave without feelings by rationalizing. So my challenge is twofold: to make "niche" stop a bit of thinking and begin to feel, and also find a way to get into other people and find out what happens. Critics are very important because they give you the first feedback, the guys working on this, get discs every day, is this guy talking about you resolve this is a reassuring signal that may be on track.
You said you used the internet in the compositions, exchanging e-mails. Use the internet to distribute their work as well?
R: Yes, sure. It is a wonderful tool for the dissemination and distribution, is already part of standard procedure.
The singers of his generation, who do you believe?
R: Let me quote my partner Romulo Fróes that besides great composer has a beautiful voice, great and a very crude way of singing and responsible. The Marcelo Jeneci other day who told me not sing so well and has no charisma and niceeee on stage. The Léo Cavalvantti, that sings a lot and know that it is not economic but has good taste to spare to exaggerate without fear, taking wave, amazing! Ah! Chico Buarque quoted in an interview on the DVD "Carioca" that the MPB has had its ups and downs, and it seems that now is on the rise again. You feel that? Create a job on that line is still quality assurance?
R: I think, as I said at the beginning of the interview, Chico is Absolutely right, time is a very fertile and free. Many people work with many individuals as well and settled in the 50, 60 and 70. The question is, how to support and reflect that time to be given due attention, to come to people? MPB, rock, swing, everything can have quality or not. Quality assurance is talent, truth, dedication and desire.
